Your own storyline has brought you through all the necessary acts, each one building on the next, to produce the relationship you now have with the cast and plot. The character development and the unfolding of the plot is what enables you to relate to the climactic scene when it arrives. Without the build-up there would be no context to produce the teardrop or smile that you now experience. Yet who can say they have not pulled their friends and family into their movie half-way through and expected them to produce that same teardrop or smile?
